Dealing with COVID

By Katie Lovallo, MA, Mind Fit Performance (www.mindfitperformance.com)

The global pandemic has taken its toll on all of us, perhaps no one more so than our children. Mental health and well-being is more than ever at the forefront of concerns within AYSO and the youth athletics communities. The ongoing stresses and mental heath considerations both children and families have faced during these unprecedented times have included:

  • Isolation
  • Social distancing
  • Decreased motivation
  • Worries, fears, anxieties
  • Lack of sports and competitive outlets
  • Lots of time together with household members
  • Parents have dual roles (working from home and home school facilitator)

Mind Fit Performance and AYSO have compiled the resources found below to provide you with information that can help you and your families cope with these often drastic and ongoing life changes.
