The 2024 Coach Educator Course is designed to identify, train, and develop a new cohort of AYSO Coach Educators (ACEs) and Coach Educator Developers (CEDs); instructors aligned with national and international standards.
The course is based on the current U.S. Soccer/FIFA Coach Educator Course, which unveils proven methodology and processes specifically aligned to enhance soccer teaching and coaching techniques.
The course emphasizes the “how” of teaching and coaching, ensuring new local coaches have the educational foundation, inspiration, and skills to deliver quality field sessions for their players.
AYSO CEDs will deliver the initial Coach Educator courses and continuing education. New CEDs will be selected from the participants in the Coach Educator courses and invited to an annual training in CA before returning to their Section to deliver local courses.

Hosting a Course
Hosting a course is managed through your Section and Area Coach Administrators. You will need a classroom, a field with players, and a minimum of 6 Student Coach Educators. The maximum class size is 14, but additional numbers can be accommodated based on CED availability.
Participant Application Form
Applicants should be dedicated to supporting local Region training and certifications, primarily for age groups 6U-12U. While it is recommended that applicants are current AYSO instructors, applicants without Coach Instructor certification will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
ACEs should demonstrate a growth mindset, be committed to their own self-development as an instructor/educator, and be enthusiastic about holistic development, including the value of social and emotional learning. This is a unique opportunity for personal growth and professional development.
